Originally scheduled to be held at the beginning of March, the IT-Trans conference and exhibition was postponed at short notice. While we’re waiting for the new event date to be announced, allow us to walk you through some of the People Sensing showcase highlights which center around occupancy detection.
Increase travel comfort and operational efficiency
No one likes overcrowded trains. Passengers want to find free seats quickly while operators want to make sure capacities are distributed according to demand. Our occupancy detection systems benefit both needs: Highly accurate information on current load levels can be fed into real-time passenger information systems, helping travelers to find available spaces. In addition, the accumulated data allows operators to optimize planning and to tailor vehicle capacities according to utilization needs. Thanks to the use of already installed CCTV infrastructure, costs will be kept at a minimum.
Zone occupancy detection to monitor areas for bikes and wheelchairs
While the occupancy rate of trains or train compartments can be calculated by means of artificial intelligence from images taken by conventional cameras, precise detection functions for smaller spaces will be carried out by our proven APS-B and APS-R-POE counters. The devices reliably detect load levels of small areas for bikes, wheelchairs and luggage and monitor the clear zones at doors.
